9. The Dead Sea Is the Lowest Point on Earth

The Dead Sea, located at 430 meters (1,411 feet) below sea level, holds the record for the lowest elevation on land. Its waters are so salty that they create a unique environment where swimmers can float effortlessly. The extreme salinity also means that the Dead Sea supports very little life. This geographical and environmental uniqueness makes the Dead Sea a subject of great interest for both scientists and travelers.
